All-On-4 Dental Implants In Costa Mesa
At Brite Clean Smiles, we help patients in Costa Mesa replace a full arch of missing or failing teeth in a single visit with All-on-4® dental implants. Using just four strategically placed titanium posts, this proven technique restores a complete, fixed set of teeth that look, feel, and function like the real thing — without the slippage, adhesives, or dietary limits of traditional dentures.
What Is All-on-4?
All-on-4 is a full-arch tooth replacement technique that anchors a non-removable bridge of teeth to just four dental implants. The two front implants are placed vertically; the two back implants are placed at an angle to capture the densest bone available. This angled approach maximizes contact with healthy jawbone and often eliminates the need for a bone graft, even for patients who’ve been told they aren’t candidates for traditional implants.
The result is a stable, permanent set of teeth that’s installed during a single procedure — not the months-long, multi-surgery process required to replace each tooth individually.
The All-on-4 Difference
Patients who’ve lived with failing teeth, partial dentures, or full dentures consistently point to four reasons they choose All-on-4 over the alternatives.
Same-Day Teeth
You arrive without a stable set of teeth and leave the same day with a fixed, temporary bridge already in place — ready to smile and eat soft foods immediately.
Permanent Fit
Unlike dentures, All-on-4 implants stay locked in place. No adhesives, no slipping while you talk, no removing them at night.
Eat What You Love
You can bite into steak, apples, and crunchy foods with confidence. Chewing force is restored close to that of natural teeth.
Protects Your Jawbone
The titanium posts stimulate the jaw just like natural tooth roots, preventing the bone loss and facial collapse common with long-term denture wear.
The Procedure, Step by Step
Every All-on-4 treatment at our Costa Mesa office follows the same proven sequence. The full timeline runs from consultation to final restoration over several months, but the surgical placement itself happens in a single appointment.
-
1
Consultation & 3D Imaging
We map your jaw with high-resolution 3D scans to evaluate bone density, locate nerves and sinuses, and plan exact implant positions before any surgery.
-
2
Surgical Placement
Any remaining failing teeth are removed and four titanium implants are placed in your jawbone — typically in two to three hours per arch, under local anesthesia or sedation.
-
3
Same-Day Temporary Bridge
Before you leave, a custom temporary bridge is attached to the new implants. You walk out with a functional, aesthetic smile that day.
-
4
Healing & Final Restoration
Over the next 3–6 months your jawbone fuses to the implants in a process called osseointegration. Once fully healed, the temporary bridge is replaced with your permanent, final set of teeth.

Contact Us For DetailsAre You A Candidate For All-on-4?
All-on-4 was designed specifically for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth in an arch, or whose remaining teeth aren’t worth saving. You may be a strong candidate if you:
- Are currently missing all teeth in the upper, lower, or both arches
- Wear dentures and want a permanent, fixed alternative
- Have severe tooth decay or gum disease and face full-mouth extraction
- Have been told you lack the bone density for traditional implants
- Are in generally good health and a non-smoker (or willing to quit during healing)
All-on-4 vs. Traditional Dentures
Both restore your smile, but day-to-day they’re a completely different experience. Here’s how they line up.
All-on-4 FAQs
The questions we hear most from patients exploring full-arch tooth replacement.
How many teeth do you get with All-on-4 implants?
Each All-on-4 arch supports a fixed bridge of typically 10 to 14 teeth. The four implants act as the anchor points; the bridge itself replaces the entire visible row of teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Patients who need both arches treated receive two bridges — one upper, one lower — for a complete new smile.
How painful is the procedure?
The surgery itself is performed under local anesthesia, with sedation options for patients who prefer them, so you don’t feel pain during the placement. Most patients describe the recovery as more comfortable than expected — closer to a tooth extraction than full oral surgery. Mild swelling and soreness for several days is normal and managed with over-the-counter or prescribed medication.
What is the downside of All-on-4 dental implants?
The honest tradeoffs: it’s a surgical procedure requiring a healing period, it’s a larger upfront commitment than dentures, and you’ll need to soft-diet for several weeks while osseointegration progresses. It’s also not reversible — remaining teeth in the treated arch are extracted as part of the process. For the right candidate, those tradeoffs are well worth the long-term result, but we walk through every one of them during your consultation.
How long do All-on-4 implants last?
The titanium implants themselves are designed to last a lifetime when properly cared for. The bridge attached to them — the visible teeth — typically lasts 15 to 20 years before wear may warrant replacement of the prosthetic. Daily brushing, regular cleanings, and avoiding tobacco are the most important factors in long-term success.
What’s the difference between All-on-4 and individual dental implants?
Individual implants replace one tooth at a time, each with its own titanium post and crown. They’re ideal when you’re missing one or a few teeth. All-on-4 is built for patients missing an entire arch — instead of placing 10 to 14 separate implants, just four support the full bridge. It’s faster, less invasive, and often more accessible for patients with reduced bone density.
Will I need a bone graft?
For most patients, no. The angled placement of the back two implants is specifically designed to use the densest available bone, which often eliminates the need for grafting even in cases where traditional implants would have required it. We confirm this on a case-by-case basis with your 3D scan.
